Code Student Accommodation’s Bollywood welcome party had guests ‘slithering’ in

Leicester's Code student accommodation hosted a welcome party with the theme of Bollywood.

Code hosted its first lively event of the new academic year on October 21, welcoming new and returning students living at the accommodation.

The welcome party ran for a duration of 3 hours from 7-10pm and was a huge success with its free tickets fully booked.

Residents of Code could bring a friend for free.

The accommodation has previously hosted many successful events and parties in previous years for residents in which they transform downstairs facilities into a suiting venue.

This year the canteen was transformed into a seating area and a bar where they served free cocktails to all the guests.

The outdoor area had a shisha bar which students could access; the courtyard had a huge blow-up party globe in which live dancers performed Bollywood-themed dances with a snake.

First year Interior Design student Steph Cooper said: “I had a great time, they were the perfect pre-drinks for my night out and the party had a range of things to do and see.

“It was great I could bring my friend from Lincoln and we both enjoyed our free cocktails.”

Students also had the possibility to receive a free face paint to their choosing, and could also use a #360videobooth and a magic mirror photo booth. The various facilities kept residents and friends entertained throughout the night.

Code specials were also on offer through the night, with guests having access to free food, free drinks and a variety of premium cocktails.

Booking for the event was completed from a QR code leading to ‘Eventbrite’ on the advertisement leaflet which every Code resident received.

On the day of the event, students went to reception and other staff members to collect their wristbands and receive 4 black/red food tokens and one green food token per guest, which they would trade throughout the night for the corresponding item.
