The best known Christmas fair is of course the Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, London, which opens its doors to the public from tomorrow(FRI,Nov18) until January 2. This is one of the longer lasting and more expensive options out of Christmas fairs but many students think it’s worth it!

Olaf Brzozowski, a second year student at De Montfort University in Leicester, said: “I went last for a date with my now girlfriend, she kept saying how she always wanted to go. Travel was cheapest by taking the bus, it was the student friendly option and the tickets for events like ice skating weren't bad. The only thing that was really expensive was playing the different fair games to win her a prize but I think it was worth it.”

Former DMU student Marceli Mlynarczyk added: “I have never been to Winter Wonderland but I have heard that the food is amazing, all that my friends from last year could talk about were the authentic German hot dogs and the fresh churros. Might have to go just for the food this year.”

There are many winter events happening all over the UK and the easiest way to find them is by going on facebook or just googling Christmas events - it’s all one click away.

Each and every Christmas fair is unique in its own special way, ranging from the smell, jewellery, gifts and family activities.
